A Double DD...woah
So...i sign on after maybe 2 weeks only to be faced with 1250 messages in my inbox. So at first im thinking "right DA are performing crazy experiments again and somethings gone amiss" and then i notice "removing beauty" got a DD for a second time. Crazy! So this is a big thanks to everyone who took the time out to comment and of course to the suggester and featurer (yes i know that isn't a word)!
I honestly cannot believe how many people have seen and commented on something i created so long ago but am grateful all the same as this is what pushes me on to create more and more. If time permitted id be firing deviations in every day, but such is a working life and a family to take care of that i hardly get time to sleep these days!
Removing beauty has become both my masterpiece and my thorn in the side i think. On one hand it's definitely the most popular of my works and although im very grateful of all the comments, i sometimes feel it overshadows all of my other stuff. Maybe my other stuff isn't as strong as it is, but id like to think ive grown as an artist and my approaches and techniques have improved.
Id like to give one last big thank you to Tinder, the woman whose face i ripped off, I know she has had a real hard time with the stock (people using it for commercial purposes, people ripping it off without credit, even people stealing removing beauty for a bands cd cover) * yeah that annoyed me too! So thanks again Tinder, that was one hell of a stock photo.
I don't get to DA as much as id like these days, but rest assured to all of my friends on here, although i may not sometimes comment, im watching and thinking of you always. Oh and you Carolyn, my muse, my alter ego and my oldest friend....im still watching you and we'll catch up soon.

Im back!!! and maybe ill stick around for a while whilst i still have this new space art bug in me. Expect some more out of this world images soon.

well...ive just built my very first website and by some small miracle even managed to get the thing online and working. Quite a feat for me as i dont have any website building experience. Anyway, for those wanting to look its at www.27-05.co.uk. Its more of a portfolio website showing off most of the stuff on here and some of my commercial projects (my real job!) So please..go take a look and critique it to pieces for me as i need some feedback for changes etc...try not to be too brutal though as it is my first site and i have no real clue on this sort of thing.

Im Back...

for a while anyway... Seems like the christmas season has had a negative effect on my daytime job. Not busy at all, which of course gives me some sneaky time to get some painting in. Dusted off the tablet this week and tried half successfully at painting something. Really want to get as good as some of these painters here on DA, man they are something else. Well i am learning something on each peice i do, so ya never know, one day! maybe!
This week i have learned that custom brushes are the way forward for painting in PS and boy do they save some time. So all you wannabe painters out there, look in to custom brushes. There are even some places here on da, with submitted brushes for you to use for free... very useful!
Well being a dad now certainly makes time fly, i don't think ive seen the home mac for at least 5 months. Not that im complaining. I love being a dad but it certainly is nice to throw myself into some art after so long.
Love to all that watch and my bestest DA buddys.

A Whole Year almost!
yeah so my resolution to update my journal kinda faded out with the giving up smoking.. nevertheless, here i am almost a year later with my creativity finally kicking in again..
points of interest this year:
1. Got married! yep its official i am now a proper MR!
2. blew up my pc for the third time.
3. bought a shiney new IMAC which i adore at the moment (figured it'd be harder to blow up).
4. Got photoshop CS2 and am currently pulling my hair out wondering where things have gone.
5. finally got my creativity back a bit after having a long time off from doing anything with any substance. (must be the mac)
